My Top 5 Favorite Catholic Prayers

Hello,

In pondering what my first post should be, I thought that I would like to have you all get to know me a little bit. My Catholic faith is the most important thing in my life. Thus, telling you some of my favorite prayers seems to be a great way to introduce myself.

Our Father

Since this is the prayer given to us by Our Blessed Lord Himself, it holds the first place in my favorites. It also sounds beautiful in Latin!

Memorare

This is a prayer to which I turn whenever I have an urgent petition or need. There is something so beautiful about leaving problems, be they ever so pressing, in the hands of Our Blessed Mother. Like she did at the wedding at Cana, she takes our needs before her son.

Hail Mary

This prayer is important for so many reasons. I love how Scriptural it is, as well as the part of it where we ask Our Blessed Mother to pray for us at the hour of our death. I love to think that every time we pray the Hail Mary, we are preparing in a small way to have a holy death.

St. Michael Prayer

The St. Michael prayer holds a special place in my heart for many different reasons. Whenever I feel in danger, or when facing temptation, the St. Michael Prayer gives me courage and strength. Also wonderful in Latin.

Guardian Angel Prayer

This classic prayer is a wonderful one to teach children. I love to say it before bed. It is a wonderful reminder that God is always protecting and caring for us, especially through the presence of our guardian angels.
